Building Narratives

I started off creating the plasticene animations without really thinking too much about narratives, and just seeing them as experiments with a new medium. In the past few years I’ve become quite stressed about creating narratives, obsessing over every detail and over-thinking it to the point that I feel frozen and get stuck! It’s been nice to just create scenes without doing that, and actually, the scenes I have created have become a starting point and have inspired a rough idea for a narrative. Also just being in a new environment is so stimulating and I have been absorbing various aspects of the village which are revealing themselves in the scenes I am making. Here is an animation sketch I made building on some of the other scenes I have made, and feeding into my story idea.
