Open Studios installation
Last Thursday (28th April), there was an Open Studios event at Centro Negra where all the artists could showcase the work they had developed over the month. I projected my animations (in an order which suggested a loose narrative) inside Casa Jasmin, where they had been created. Three projectors were used, and the films were shown on the walls inside two of the little rooms, and inside one of the chicken coops (see video under photos). (Photos taken by Phoebe van Essche.)
I loved this little house; I found it so inspiring and just the general ambience, slight creepiness and sense of history of the location definitely fed into the scenes I created. I will be getting a new studio for next month. I feel a bit sad to be leaving Casa Jasmin but I am also looking forward to the change!
