This is a small three-colour original linocut I made of a golden snub nosed monkey. It was created using multiple blocks of lino, and has been burnished by hand. It is printed on pure white silk Japanese paper using oil based inks.
The image measures approximately 10 x 15cm and the piece of paper measures 24.5 x 18cm (though this varies among the prints).
The golden snub-nosed monkey is found in the mountainous forests of central and south west China. It snows often, and these monkeys have thick coats and can withstand colder temperatures than other primates. It is an endangered species.
As each item has been printed individually, every one is slightly different and unique (so may differ very slightly from the image provided with this listing).
