Handmade Colobus Species Sock Monkey Doll - OOAK (with his own luggage!)

£45.00
sold out
Meet Darwin - a black Colobus sock monkey, lovingly stitched by hand.

He is made from a pair of upcycled pre-worn socks (thoroughly laundered in a hot wash, of course!) and white faux fur, and is loosely stuffed with rags so he is floppy and heavy - as I feel a sock monkey should be! He has silver-black buttons for eyes and cream buttons for nipples.

He is very friendly and affectionate, and takes a keen interest in natural history.

Here is an excerpt from Darwin's journal:
"Day 5 - Since I found myself in existence, I have a dilemma. I am clearly the product of a great creator, and yet about me are the remains of the limbless cloth-slugs from which I must surely have evolved? Perplexing.

Day 6 - Do i have nipples for eyes or eyes for nipples? My creator is surely mad.

Day8 - I yearn for travel; I can feel it in my stitches. I look out the window... where shall i go?"

Would you like your home to be Darwin's next expedition?

Could he be the missing link between primates and socks?

Darwin will arrive to you nicely packaged and with his own personalised luggage! His little suitcase consists of handmade and found items: a miniature skull, a little jar containing a sock specimen, a fossil, and his leather bound journal. He also comes with a birth certificate for you to also keep. He would nestle cosily in a variety of nooks and crannies, measuring approximately 40cm in height from head to toe. He was created in a smoke-free home.

Please note – This product is a one-off, handmade item. It is therefore a little delicate, and not suitable for young children due to small parts.

Please also note - Some products may be subject to import taxes and custom duty fees after arriving in the country of destination. Whilst I do my best at my end to avoid these, all import duties and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer, so please be aware of this when buying internationally!
