Male Orangutan Handmade Brooch pin sewn painted original art wearable OOAK

sold out
Here is a small, hand sewn brooch in the form of a male Tapanuli orangutan I stitched it from linen fabric, stuffed it and painted it by hand, and it is a unique and one-off item. His muzzle area has been slightly sculpted in the way it is stitched and he has a woollen beard and hair. He measures approximately 7.5cm tall and he is about 10cm at his widest point. He is painted with acrylic paint and finished with matt varnish. He is signed on the back under the brooch pin.

The Tapanuli is one of the three species of orangutan, and is found only on the island of Sumatra. It is the most recently discovered species, only being announced as a distinct species in 2017. It is critically endangered.

This brooch is a unique and original piece.

Please note – This product is a one-off, handmade item. It is therefore a little delicate, and not suitable for young children due to small parts.

Please also note - Some products may be subject to import taxes and custom duty fees after arriving in the country of destination. Whilst I do my best at my end to avoid these, all import duties and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer, so please be aware of this when buying internationally!

Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoyed my shop! Daisy :) xx
